RESTORER, MAKER, DEALER AND APPRAISER OF QUALITY STRINGED INSTRUMENTS IN THE VIOLIN FAMILY

My name is Luke Mercier. I am a violin restorer, skilled in all manner of restoration, as well as in the building of all instruments from the violin family. I have built many violins, violas, cello, and double-bass.

In 1991, I began my training in the renowned restoration rooms of George Heinl & Co. Ltd in Toronto, Ontario, where I remained as a full-time employee until 2006.

Since that time I have established my own practice in the Country north of Belleville, Ontario and have proudly served the musical community far and wide.

My continuing involvement with Heinls has allowed me several opportunities to restore treasured antiquities, many of which are part of the celebrated collection of instruments that comprise The Canada Council for the Arts Musical Instrument Bank.
